My friend, there are some easy to do exercise that doesn’t take a whole lot of effort. But remember to lose weight you still need to eat healthy foods and do these simple exercises.  I’ll give you 5 easy exercises. There are a whole lot more, but let’s not rush it. These exercises will get you started. These are the 5 easy exercises to lose weight, these I do on a regular basis.

  • Walking
  • Swimming
  • Cycling
  • Tennis
  • Push up
Walking does the heart good

Now let us start with the first one. Walking. One of the best and my favorite exercise to do.  It’s good to get out and walk.

Walking helps clear your head. For people with health issues including obesity and heart disease. Walking is a low-intensity activity. It does not require any kind of equipment or a gym membership. Walking helps keep the blood flowing.

You can just walk around the neighborhood or next time you need something at the store try walking instead of driving. Walking really doesn’t tire you out like running does. It’s a very relaxed activity. Walking can burn 5 and 8 calories every minute depending on what you weigh.

On a hot day, lose weight and feel good

Next is swimming. To me, this is probably one of my favorite exercises and activity to do.   I love the water.  Swimming can burn from 400 to 700 calories an hour.

When swimming you move just about every part of your body. There are all kinds of things you can do when swimming, the doggie paddle, front crawl, breaststrokes, or just swim laps.  Plus swimming can be a good workout or just for pleasure, regardless you are getting some good exercise in.

Swimming is great for weight loss and toning your body. Just do me a favor, if you have just eaten wait for about 30 minutes to an hour to hit the pool. Swimming you can do year around. During the summer find an outside pool to go and during the winter you can find an indoor pool. That is one thing I love, I’ve always loved the water. And it feels great on a hot summer day, especially here in Texas.

Great way to weight loss

Cycling is another fun and useful way to lose weight.  You can move at your own pace either it is slow or fast. Back when I was growing up, you had to be careful when riding your bike in the street. Now they have bike lanes, makes it easier for bikers.

Bikers always have the right of way. Cycling can burn from 372 to over 1,100 calories per hour depending on your weight and the speed at which you are going. Compare to running cycling in easy on the joints, even an out of shape person can get on a bike and ride a mile or so.

If you don’t work for (at least up to a mile) ride your bike to work. You save on gas and get a good workout. So like Freddie Mercury from the rock group Queen says in one of his songs. Get on your bikes and ride.

Tennis, you will have fun with weight loss

Tennis is another great way to have fun and lose a little weight. Tennis can burn up to 600 calories an hour.  You can grab a buddy and play a game of tennis or play by yourself. Most tennis courts have a green wall you can hit to that allows you to play by yourself.

Tennis also is a great way to reduce stress along with improving your flexibility, balance, and posture.  Every time you hit the ball your building strength and losing weight. With tennis, you have to be quick and move fast to get a good connection with the ball.

I started getting into tennis when my daughter was around 8. I always wanted her to get exercise, so I bought tennis racquets and balls. We played all the time. So on the weekends or whenever you have time get out there on the court.

Push up

Push ups
You can do it

Next, is push-ups. A lot of people don’t like to do push-ups because they say it’s too hard.  Just start off slowly and as the weeks go on you will get better and they become easier.

50 push-ups can burn up to 100 calories, but the real weight loss happens because of the muscle buildup. Make sure when doing push-ups your form is perfect. You want to avoid any kind of injuries from doing them wrong.

Push-ups can be done anywhere and at any time. About an hour, after you eat, hit the deck and do a few. During commercials, you can do a few. Push-ups can build your muscles up, your abs and glutes. There are a lot of benefits to doing them. So give them a try.

Oh and remember whenever doing any kind of exercise make sure you drink a lot of water. Your body always needs plenty of water.

My Final Words

These exercises are easy to do and can go along the way when trying to reach your weight loss goals. Try these simple exercises. You can spend about 30 minutes a day doing these and you will lose a lot of calories.

  1. Hey great blog here! You have some really useful information.
If I had to give a critique, I would say that the title is a little hard to read. Maybe make it white? Also there are some spelling and grammar errors a bound. Fix some of this and the blog will take off! You’re already off to a great start.

    1. Thank you for the impute. Really appreciate it. Yeah grammer was never my strong point in school. Will try and work on it.

  2. Excellent, easily actionable yet effective weight loss tips. Have passed your site onto a morbidly obese friend of mine who won’t help himself. I think your site should inspire him to take some action… Thank You 🙂

  3. I really should start walking/running with my wife. I keep on postponing it. We bought running gear but we hardly use it. My family have a history of high-blood pressure and cardiac disease so I really must look after my bod more often. Thanks for the share.

great list of activities. Glad to see walking made your list- I think it’s the easiest and probably most underrated activity. My wife and I also keep active playing pickleball- it gets you moving and is relatively low impact.

    1. Yes, walking is a great way to stay in shape. I have the Samsung health app on my phone, It keeps track of my walking. I walk at least 5,000 to 8,000 steps a day. Sometimes a little less are more.
