Walking To Lose Weight, The Best Exercises

Hello, welcome to Losing Weight With Pat. This is where you learn about walking is good for losing weight.

Setting up a walking program is probably one of the best and safest ways to lose weight.  I still to this day preach about walking. It makes you feel good and it clears all the stress out of your life. Pick a good time when you can go out for a walk. I prefer mornings before I shower and go to walk. Especially in the Summertime. You don’t want to walk when it is 100 degrees out, that’s for sure. Doing it in the morning or when the Sun is going down in the evening is the best time to walk.

Take the dog out and take a walk along the beach

Makes it easier if you have a dog. Take him out for about 30 minutes or an hour, maybe longer. Let me say the first thing you need is to make sure you have a good pair of shoes. You don’t want to walk if your shoes are not comfortable.

Makes it easier if they fit right and are very comfortable. Also, make sure you stretch before you go out, even walking can cause injury. Make sure to take enough water with you. Have to stay hydrated. Even On cool days, the body still needs water. Okay now let’s get the benefits of walking.

Benefits of walking

You can benefit from walking in many ways. You can maintain a healthy weight, prevent from having high blood pressure and it really put you in a good mood. When you walk to lose weight, you boost your energy level and that feels so darn good. Don’t you want to wake up feeling good every day?

I use to wake up feeling like crap. That’s why I quit drinking beer, started eating right and doing basic exercise.  You can burn a lot of body fat by walking. Walking can also help you live longer. Why not, if you feel good, why not live longer. That’s everybody’s goal. The bigger you are the less likely you will live as long as you would like. Sorry folks, that’s just a fact of life.

Get some friends and take a walk together

I’ll use this as an example, if you walk 2 miles and it takes you 30 minutes or slower per mile, says you weigh 250 lbs, you will lose 227 calories. Right now I weigh 205 lbs, I’m trying to get back to 195 lbs. I walk for an hour, so about 2 miles at 30 minutes a mile, I would lose 217 calories. Not bad. For me I don’t think 205 lbs is that bad, I am 6’3″. But I’m trying to get back to 195 lbs, that’s what I weighed for a long time and want to get back down to that. So as you can see, plenty of benefits to walking. I hope you will give it a chance. Just do it, once you start you won’t regret.

If you have any questions or just want to say high., please leave one at the end of this post. Thank you.

Again, thank you for visiting me here at Losing Weight With Pat.

  1. I couldn’t agree with you more about the benefits of walking. Much easier on the joints for us older folks who can no longer go jogging like we used to. Early morning sun-up walks are my favorite. What’s your take on step trackers like FitBit? Are they worth the investment?

  2. You are so right! Walking is really healthy and it is one of the best ways to lose weight.
You can take a free time to be with yourself, too.

    I like it 🙂
