What Foods Help You Lose Weight? Lean Meat

What Food Help You Lose Weight

Hello, welcome back to Losing Weight With Pat. I’ll give you simple solutions to losing weight.

This is my last segment for trying to lose weight in 2 weeks. So read the other posts I wrote on this subject. They are as follow:

We are going to be discussing lean meat. Lean meats that will help you lose weight.  When people think of lean meat, they think of Chicken and Turkey, these are not your only options when eating lean.

Lean meat is any serving of meat about 3 ounces with less than 10 grams total fat, 4.5 grams saturated fat and 95 milligrams cholesterol. When cooking lean meats, always steam, grill, poach, bake or broil them to keep their fat content low.  If you saute or fry them in oil, that will increase the fat content.

We will go over:

  1. Skinless Poultry
  2. Beef Cuts
  3. The Paleo Diet

Next time you go to the grocery store, keeps this in mind. Also, think about getting on the Paleo Diet. There is no reason you can’t lose weight and eat well. Read my review on the Paleo Diet, you will not be disappointed.

Skinless Poultry

Skinless Poultry includes the white meat of chicken, turkey, and Cornish hens. All very good meats. one 2 to 3 ounce serving of Skinless Poultry contains under 3 grams of fat. To get a

Turkey

low carb meal eats these with non-starchy vegetables or green salads.

3 ounces of chicken breast meat only has 170 calories along with 25 grams of protein, and you need that protein to lose weight. Try and eat Chicken breast instead of chicken thigh or wing. The reason for that is chicken thigh has 13 grams of fat and wings have 16 grams of fat. You want to stay away from that if you are trying to lose weight.

When eating Turkey, try eating roasted turkey breast. It’s the lowest calorie option. It only has 160 calories, 24 grams of protein and 6 grams of fat. Remember that’s for 3 ounces. Turkey is the better choice when trying to lose weight.

Cornish Hens resemble miniature roasting chickens. They are immature chickens weighing between 1 to 2 LBS. Cornish Hens contain 23 grams of protein and 4 grams of fat. A serving of Cornish Hens has 134 calories.

Add these to your diet and see the difference it will make when losing weight.

Beef Cuts

I probably wouldn’t totally cut out meats when trying to lose weight. There are certain Beef Cuts you can eat and not worry about gaining weight. I would not recommend eating it every day, but it won’t hurt.

There are more than a few you can eat but try these two for starters. Eye of Round Steak and Fillet Mignon, Filet Mignon is probably the most expensive so if you are on a budget, try not to buy too much of these.

A serving size of 3 ounces of Eye of Round Steak has 143 calories. 37 calories from fat. Also,  it only contains 4.2 grams of fat. Eye of Round Steak is good in Protein with 24 grams. The only bad point of Eye of Round Steak is that it is high in Cholesterol. But it can help you lose weight but try not to eat too much of this. Maybe once a week or once every other week.

Filet Mignon
Yummy so good

Fillet Mignon is very good like I said more expensive. This might sound like a lot, but I’m going to put it as 6 ounces instead of 3.  6 Ounces of Fillet Mignon has 348 calories and 144 calories from fat. Also, it consists of 16 grams of fat for the same serving size. 48 grams of protein. I’ll tell you this, if I was not on a tight budget, this is what I would be eating.

The Paleo Diet

The Paleo Diet, I still love writing about the Paleo Diet. Why not, it works and I wish more people would get on it. At least, with this Diet, you don’t have to deprive yourself of eating. You must think lean when losing weight. Meat is a complete source of protein. That is why I never agreed with going Vegan or being a Vegetarian.

To name a few of lean meats in the Paleo Diet are:

  • Lean beef
  • Top Sirloin steak
  • London broil
  • Pork Loin
  • Pork Chops

There are so much more. So please get on this Diet. Go to my review and find out more about the Paleo Diet.

It’s really good and healthful too. but I think too the trick here is how it is cooked. Limit the fried foods.
